A Seven Things About Me Tag

Stephanie Black, author of Six LDS Writers and a Frog fame, recently tagged me for a "Seven Things About Me" game. I've been very remiss about following up on similar tags, for which I apologize, but they always felt like one thing too many that needed doing. This time, I've stepped outside my comfort zone and am taking a stab.

1) I was born in Caernarvon, Wales, UK, to Londoner parents, Eve and Fred Tozer. Caernarvon is a beautiful Welsh city with a castle, pretty harbor, and old world architecture to die for. Not that I remember my birth, but after moving back to England when I was two, we often visited Wales for family holidays.

2) I love horses, wild moorlands, beach walks, and goats .

3) Favorite foods—pears, Pink Lady apples, raspberries, clotted cream, and crisps inside cheese butties (potato chips inside cheese sandwiches).

4) Dislikes—petrol smells, droning airplanes, Subway sandwiches, CDs in wrong cases, cleaning toilets, changing nappies on other people’s babies, and freeway driving.

5) I enjoy genealogical research, and once discovered our family is related to the singer, Phil Collins, and his cartoonist brother, Clive. They are my dad’s cousin’s children. And no, I wasn’t blessed with their talents.

6) I still have a scar on my right knee from racing downhill at age eight, thinking that if I ran fast enough I’d take off as in my dreams. I took off all right—and crash landed, gouging a deep hole in my right knee, into which a country doctor (looking back, I’m convinced he was the vet) dropped neat iodine, and stitched me up without local anesthetic.

7) I once thought I’d be an actress when I grew up, because my initials before marriage were A.C.T. That idea didn’t last long.

Oh yes, and I once shook hands with Lady Diana. But that makes eight things, so I won’t add that one :-)

Since I’m in the tagging mood today, I hereby tag the following people to find seven things about themselves to share with the world.

Thanks, Stephanie. My favorite cheese is made from goat milk--the blend of smooth and nutty, with crisp and salty, is mouth watering.

Annie--thanks for taking up the challenge. I'll come and read at the weekend.

Wow wow wow! I had no idea you were born in Caernarvon! I went there many times as a kid with my family. The castle there is still one of our all-time favorites. How cool is that??!!

AND! My initials growing up were also ACT!! And I thought I was destined to be an actress. As it turned out, I was just destined to do extremely well on the ACT. hahaha.

Thanks for the tag. I usually make a point to NOT respond to tags. But it's been ages since I did one, and plus I'm having some blog issues right now (I'll explain that in my next post) so I'll do this one! So, thanks! :-D I'll let you know when it's up.

Thanks, all of you for responding.
I'll come and check out your versions soon.

Brillig--that's amazing re Caernarvon. What were you all doing over there? And how weird re the initials! I'll have to learn more at the next blog luncheon.
