I would never have thought of this if I hadn't seen it. No more lemon slices in restaurants for me. Obvious enough, but not something we generally thing twice about.

THE READER'S DUTY (From a 1918 Harper Brothers book, The Story of the Little Angels): “Truth spreads by testimony. There is a sort of high compulsion, which lofty spirits recognize, to bear witness to the truth wherever found. That is how the best books get their circulation. A reader who has dug treasure from a book spreads the news of his discovery to others whom he desires to enrich. If this book (or blog!) has pleased or helped you, will you not tell about it to the most appreciative person you know?”

EWWWWWWWW!! Did I say eww for long enough. Luckily I've never liked lemon wedges with my drink/water so I don't have that problem, but if I get fish or anything like that I always ask for some lemon wedges for my fish . . . sigh. I don't think those wedges would be any better than the ones in the drinks, do you?
You're right, Shanna, and I've never thought of that before, either. Sigh.
OK, I don't even dare watch this video clip because I love lemons... I just don't think I can watch.
Terry--lemons are still wonderful, and great for making the body pH levels more alkaline (despite the fact they are acid and you need to rinse your teeth after drinking/eating).
All the video does is warn people not to eat them in restaurants, in case the handlers haven't washed their mucky little hands. That's the only risky place to eat them.
I figured that was what it was. I've worked in restaurants and then taken microbiology. There is a lot out there to consider. It is amazing that any of us survive.:) Thanks for the information.
